A Trial of Two Lovers
It was a bright sunny day. Morgunn rested behind a kissing booth. The day had been going smoothly, but her son had intervened. Now, she was left with nothing. She leaned over onto the table and rested her chin in her hand. No one had the guts to even say hello to her now. Morgunn let out a long sigh. She was now bored. Her blue eyes watched as many men hurried past her booth. She glared and rolled her eyes. She looked down at her black corset top. It was low cut, and very revealing. Wasn't that how most men liked their women? It hadn't failed her before. "Doesn't anyone want to kiss a lovely woman?" She called out as sexy as she could.
Part of this was to make her mother even more upset but her son had decided to make her plan null. Her shoulders slumped. Morgunn leaned back in the chair and rested her thigh high boots onto the table. Maybe that will entice them. She played with her blonde hair as she was now in a dull both, waiting for someone, any man who pay attention to her.

Re: A Trial of Two Lovers
Dragomir disembarked the Lycanthrope as the ship docked. Zarman followed behind him nodding towards his master. His adopted son was the only one in recent times to respect Dragomir for the man he was-and hoped to become again. He felt that the boy could sympathize, but Zarman was more man than any other person his opinion- even if he was part demon. The boy had burnt orange skin. His black hair framed his narrow face. The barbed orange tail twitched nervously as two native soldiers passed them on the dock. Zarman's vest had seen better days- Dragomir would need to buy him some new clothes after they restocked the ship. The harbor master had failed to get the ship's name, or that of its crew- perhaps he did not recognize Dragomir as the captain. Zarman disappeared into the tunnel for the rail caravan- if one of them was stopped by the country's security, then the other was sure to make it inside. He was sure that Zarman would slip in unnoticed, but he seemed to attract attention. Zarman would probably do his swordplay routine for some extra gold- as long as he wasn't distracted from the task at hand, Dragomir didn't mind. He only had one more day before his next transformation- Dragomir hoped that Zarman could restock the ship quickly. Dragomir would head for the forest on the other side of the main city- he could then relax knowing that his transformations would not result in anymore deaths. The tram stopped in the main city anyway- and their was a local celebration going on today.
As the tram came to a stop, Dragomir exited the rail car. The large metallic guards scanned the crowds for potential threats- Dragomir pulled his coat closer as the golems passed him by. Everyone in the city must've left their stations for the festivities. Their were no holidays in Dragomir's homeland- the constant plagues of undead, lycanthropy, and death left the people with little to celebrate. The worst had happened as far as he was concerned, he had nothing left to be afraid of.
He passed by many booths- a dwarf kept trying to challenge him to an arm-wrestling match. Dragomir decided that a display of his strength may gather unwanted attention. He was curious about the holiday itself- what could inspire the people of this country to rejoice in such a way? Dragomir spotted a beautiful young woman with long blonde hair, blues eyes, and long legs- she propped her feet on the table in front of her, revealing thigh-high leather boots. The women of his country were not allowed to dress in the manner that this woman did; bright colors and bare skin was said to attract vampires and other undead. She had a large hat with a green feather speckled with red dots, a captain's jacket propped on the chair she sat in, a loosely tied black corset top, and a thick black belt. He noticed that she kept a hand musket tucked into the belt- he had seen them used against bears back home. He sat in the chair across from the young lady, hoping to avoid the notice of everyone but her.
"Vwat, may I ask is da meanings behind dis holoday? I'm curious..."

Re: A Trial of Two Lovers
Morgunn raised an eyebrow as a man that she had never seen walked to her booth. Keeping her cool, she merely watched him take a seat. His accent was intriguing. She had never heard it before. It took her a moment to get what he was asking. This holiday. A long sigh came from her as she didn't particularly care for it. This pirate wasn't to interested with love or being with loved ones. There were very few who had seemed to by pass her rule of never showing care. Her son and his family were that exception. True, her son's wife seemed to always be careful around her, but it was easy to like her. The one that she would actually admit to caring for would be her granddaughter, Yume. She was an outspoken girl who had a daring nature. It warmed her heart to know that women like that still existed. Her twin brother was always out to be honorable and while she cared for him, she always felt guilty when she was around him. Her carelessness caused him to lose his voice. If she had been stonger, then he would be talking just like his sibling. The youngest child, Aiko, was still to young to determine how she would act when older, but she tolerated babysitting when Ayami asked. Her thoughts focused on the matter at hand. This festival.
A smirk appeared on her face. Perhaps, she would get a customer after all. "Well, traveler. This is the festival of Morrigen. It is a day long celebrated here in this town. It is when the people who lived underground finally could have the freedom to see the sky again. It is a day of love where everyone spends time with those that they care about the most. We have many festival's here but this one is one of the most popular ones. Feel free to partake in the booths around here." She stopped and sat up now. Her boots now on the ground. She leaned towards him, her eyes seeming almost to sparkle. "Or you could enjoy this booth..." A cool smirk appeared on her face again. "You see my friend, this is a booth that is for you." She licked her candy red lips. "A kiss...all you have to do is just put a gold piece down and you will always remember this as the day that you were kissed by Captain Morgunn" She flipped her hair and waited for his response. He was definitely an interesting man, one worth keeping around for a good time.

Re: A Trial of Two Lovers
He watched as the woman perked up-straightening her posture. He could smell her from here- like an ocean breeze mixed with the scent of wine and rum. Dragomir also caught the scent of someone else nearby, he turned to see a child staring at him. The youth had long white hair and purple eyes. Two shiny black horns protruded from his forehead. He was dressed strangely- he appeared to be wearing a white dress. Feathered white wings emerged from the child's shoulders- what was he? The child's eyes were unnerving- he seemed to accuse Dragomir by merely staring at him. In his homeland the child would have been accused of being a vampire- and killed on sight. It was obvious that the youth was another race, and not a cursed spirit- but he still made Dragomir defensive. He was certain that the boy would call for the local enforcers soon- Dragomir needed to keep moving. He liked listening to the woman speak- he wondered if she had other soothing abilities. He knew that if he stayed to find out the girl would probably end up dead, though. He smiled at her, placing three gold pieces on the table.
"I moost be ov. Poorhaps another time, Mortgun..."
Dragomir stood from the booth separating himself from the woman as quickly as possible. In his haste, he bumped into the strange child- Dragomir mouthed one the curses of his homeland. He began to sweat- his stomach began to wrench. He felt ill and unnatural. Was he beginning to turn early- Dragomir's vision began to blur.

Re: A Trial of Two Lovers
Morgunn frowned as she watched him walk away. Did that just happen? No man had ever turned her down. Not one. Her bottom lip poked out as she was disgruntled about this situation. Her blue eyes glanced down to see the three gold pieces. An eyebrow raised as she slid them into her small pouch on her belt. Clearing her throat, she looked up to see that his form was far away now. "No! Wait..." She reached out her hand and then groaned. Was this suppose to be a challenge? She would definitely except it. The pirate adjusted her hat and corset before leaving her booth. Her son may have threatened the men who had come first, but this one had caught her eye. Morgun didn't even know his name. It was all mysterious and she just had to see why. Her adventurous side was ready to learn more about him. She picked up speed as she rushed to the crowd.
"Move..." she said, pushing her way through the crowd. Why was is so crowded? She looked up to see a small girl dancing. Morgunn quickly recognized the child as Midori who followed her grandchildren around. Huffing, she pushed her way but then gave up. There were to many people to really try to look for this man. Her shoulders slumped and she watched this dance. She would occasionally roll her eyes. It was an obvious display of affection. It turned her stomach to see such admiration. However a creeping thought was in the depths of her mind that perhaps she to could find someone like that. That she could come to love. She wrinkled her nose and discarded that thought, pushed it deeper. Her mother must never find out those thoughts. She already couldn't stand her as is.

Re: A Trial of Two Lovers
Darvalel watched the sun rise over the docks. He was already on his second cigar. Most people couldn't handle the ones made by the Mudstomp tribe- but orcs weren't the only tough creatures in the world. It had been a long night, but all of his searches just lead him back here. Mitsuko was probably furious with him for not returning home all night- but he kept extra cigars.
Darvalel landed on the deck of the Remorseless, knowing that his daughter was pacing- it had become her morning ritual. He hoped he wasn't disturbing the two of them. Most fathers would cringe at the thought of their daughter sleeping with a stranger, but Morgunn was different. She had already experienced the worst that the universe could spit out, he didn't see the harm in her finding some happiness- even in the company of a mangy stranger. Darvalel was more concerned about what she was about to say after hearing his proposal.
Morgunn was leaning over the railing- for once without her gaudy hat. Morgunn pulled her coat closer to her as she realized her father was visiting. She had blue eyes and flowing blonde hair- just like his wife. She had gotten her looks from her mother, and her personality from him. Darvalel pulled a cigar from his coat, offering it to his daughter.
"Its Orcish, but it won't kill you. I take it that your hairy friend made it back alright. I can't believe that you carried him all the way from the capital, I know that the tram helped- but that was one heavy guy. I guess you should be happy that Shinsei knocked him out first- I hate to think of what would've happened if your mom got to him first."
Dragomir woke to smell of rum and the ocean. What had happened to him? He could see light shining through a large window. He could feel the water rocking beneath him. There was an open closet stuffed with women's clothing. Dragomir looked down, realizing his state of nudity. He wasn't a modest person- but it was unnerving to know that your only clothing options meant that you were dressing like a woman. He was covered only by a white shirt spattered with blood. Was this his own blood, or someone else's? He recognized the shirt of the youth who was watching him before. Did he kill that boy? Where was Zarman?

Re: A Trial of Two Lovers
She looked to see her father approaching her. Pulling her coat closer, she watched him coming towards her. He offered her a cigar and she shook her no. Morgunn didn't feel up to smoking at the moment. She had to much on her mind. But hearing his topic for conversation, she smiled. "Well, Dad, I am Jr's sister. I managed. Although, my muscles might be sore for a couple of days." She laughed, but it ended quickly. His words went to her head as she heard Shinsei's name. She had been there and seen how fast the child moved in order to save his friend. It was unbelievable. She took a deep breath. "Yeah, I sure that mother would have completely killed him. I guess I will have to thank the little bugger."
She wondered what had happened to him. Why was this man a monster? But he hadn't been to her. He had turned her down and that made him all the more interesting, but he had attacked one of her family members, the one that she had failed to save. She chewed her bottom lip as she thought about what she was going to ask him when he woke up. But her father was here, probably to ask if she knew anything about him. She turned to face him. "Mother didn't ask you to come did she?" She hoped not. It wasn't like her mother to send someone else to ask a billion questions about who she liked, but she never talked with her. But she didn't think that was the real reason he was here.

Re: A Trial of Two Lovers
"Well, your old man has been up all night looking into our meta morph friend- watching security projections, finding his ship, tracking records of the crew and where they came from. They're from the north..."
Darvalel handed the ship's log to Morgunn.
"...and there have been many reports of lycanthropic infections there lately. Usually were-transformations are brought on by an attack- someone will get scratched or bitten before they transform. There have been reports of people who had never been attacked being spontaneously afflicted- no reason or cause. I was hoping your friend could tell me something about that before one of us goes to investigate, but it seems he's not much of a talker. The log has no mention of him. It seems that Scruffy doesn't like his name too much, maybe you could get more information out of him than I could."
Darvalel began to rise above the deck of the ship- hovering.
"And Morgunn, since we don't need any more of our family members duking it out with hairy strangers- try to keep him on the ship. I mean it- don't let him out of your site. He needs to stay put until I get more information about the random afflictions. Don't worry, I'll keep mom off of your back for as long as possible- but you know you're going to have to talk with her sooner or later. Better to have that conversation on your own terms, in my opinion. Take it easy, Dear."
He left a puff of smoke as he teleported from view.

Re: A Trial of Two Lovers
She listened, thankful that it wasn't her mother being sneaky. So, he was from the north. That place was very odd and kind of spooky. Morgunn nodded after her father was done. She watched him lift up and then vanish. Her eyes rolled as she knew that she would have to speak with her mother on this subject fairly soon. She turned around and sighed. It was going to be a long day. There were so many unanswered questions. She walked towards her quarters and instructed her crew that she was not to be disturbed. With that, she went inside her room. Seeing that he was up, she smiled. Morgunn always hated waiting.
She moved to chest in the corner and pulled out pants and a shirt. Turning around, she held them out. "Now if I give you these, can you please answer a few questions for me? It will make things easier for us both." A small smile was on her face as she stood there. "I shall need to know your name and your purpose for visiting our lovely city." It was a start and she hoped that by the end, she would get to know more then that.
